What is Kripalu YogaDance?

Kripalu YogaDance® (formerly Kripalu DansKinetics) is a well-rounded workout for body and soul. Combining the exuberance of dance with the compassionate inner awareness of yoga, Kripalu YogaDance allows you to connect with your deeper self and express your unique, internal dance. The environment is always supportive and non-jundmental, with the emphasis on self-expression and spirit, rather than performance or technique.

What is a typical YogaDance class like?

Every class is a unique experience. We begin with a gentle yoga sequence and gradually work our way up to brisk aerobic movement. Our spirited dancing is accompanied by an inspiring mix of music from all around the globe. Each class ends with a yoga-based cool-down and a deep relaxation, providing time for personal integration.

This fusion of yoga and dance stretches and strengthens the body, and at the same time helps to release tension and stress, leaving you feeling calm and refreshed.

How physically fit do you have to be?

No previous yoga or dance experience is necessary to enjoy a Kripalu YogaDance class. You are encouraged to adapt the moves to your own fitness level and comfort.

YogaDance is suitable for dance fanatics and "couch potatoes" alike; great for yoga enthusiasts or yoga phobics. If you enjoy a brisk walk, you'll love Kripalu YogaDance!

What to bring/wear:

Wear comfortable exercise clothes that let you move freely. You may want to dress in layers, since you'll likely become warm during energetic dancing but cool down during relaxation. You are also encouraged to attend class barefoot, to help you feel grounded. If not comfortable dancing in bare feet, please bring socks or clean indoor shoes (such as sneakers or jazz shoes) to help protect our nice dance floor. Mats will be provided, or you're welcome to bring your own.

Don't forget to bring water, your sense of humor, and your playful spirit!
